The Old Feed Mill

The Old Feed Mill’s rich history dates back to pre-Civil War 1857, the year the Milwaukee & Mississippi Railroad Company arrived from Milwaukee, platted Mazomanie, and continued its drive to Prairie du Chien to create the first rail connection between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River system. Think about it. What a big deal that must have been! While here, they also developed a water power supply for a new flouring mill, what is now The Old Feed Mill.

Osso Bucco
Marinated Pork shank that is braised in white wine and broth and then oven roasted. Served over spaetzle that is sautéed in a mousseline mustard. Served with seasonal vegetables.

Seafood Platter
A combo platter of grilled tuna, mahi mahi, sea scallops and salmon, served with lemon infused rice and seasonal mixed vegetables.

Filet Mignon
USDA choice hand cut Filet, grilled to order, and finished with a blue cheese infused butter. Served with choice of Baked or garlic mashed potato and seasonal mixed vegetables.

Surf and Turf
Choice Tenderloin Filet grilled to order and served with gulf shrimp stuffed with flaked crab meat. Accompanied with choice of baked potato or garlic mashed potato and seasonal mixed vegetables.

Winter Vegetable Medley
Root vegetables, including parsnips, turnips, rutabaga and sweet potatoes are tossed in garlic infused olive oil and fresh herbs, then oven roasted and served with creamy parmesan risotta.

Shrimp Linguini
Lightly blackened Gulf Shrimp wrapped in hickory smoked bacon. Served over linguini tossed with a rich hollandaise sauce.

Chicken Florentine
Oven roasted Chicken Breast on top of fresh sautéed baby Spinach, hickory smoked bacon and sweet Roasted Red Peppers, with a creamy white sauce. Served with rice pilaf.

Menu

The Old Feed Mill restaurant has been bringing local farmer’s flavors to the table for well over 20 years. From local, pasture-based cheeses blended into classic favorites to grains grown in the valleys of Taliesin, stone ground and baked in the hearth of the Mill. Regional and national publications and television shows have highlighted the qualities that make, the Old Feed Mill one of the culinary and cultural treasures of southern Wisconsin.

Visitors enjoy the rustic elegance of our main dining room.

Our second floor Banquet area accommodates up to 175 guests.  There are 2 areas accommodating 75-100 guests each.

In the Flouring Mill bakery, we make a variety of delicious breads from organic, locally grown wheat and rye. Our flour is ground fresh, daily, in our stone buhr mill. The key to making outstanding bread is in the freshness of the flour. This takes more effort, but our customers value the difference.
